Fragile Translations (Nakedness II)

Performance, 2023 

The artist remains still and undertakes the task of translating a personal text from Spanish to English while projecting a 2014 video of her naked body onto herself. Her own voice can be heard coming out from the speakers, reading the original text in Spanish. In white attire, her body serves as a projected surface, blurring lines between the physical and the virtual. The artwork dwells on failed translation, finding aesthetic potential in the incommunicable. Both the body and the technology have aged a decade, serving as a testament to the passage of time. The performance will occur again in 2034.
