About me
I am a trans-disciplinary artist from Colombia.
The content of my work focuses on the deterioration of communication, and the resistance that arises in the face of the entropies of understanding. I am also interested in understanding how in our cybernetic society communication and power go hand in hand. Early in my career I explored the idea of language as a barrier in the act of transmitting intimate experiences. However, the search for understanding the phenomenon of language has allowed me to go beyond my context, and reach questions about the collective, the social and the political.
My artistic practice transits through traditional media, such as drawing and painting, and reaches electronic and digital media, in particular video, audiovisual installations and creative programming. I am currently integrating Artificial Intelligence and generative systems into my performance pieces. Ultimately, I am interested in how tools change the artistic endeavour and expand the definitions of aesthetic experiences.
Graduate of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2017), DAAD scholarship holder (2019-2022) and the Jóvenes Talentos ICETEX program in the area of Visual and Plastic Arts (2014). Master student in Media Art and Design at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. I have exhibited my work in institutions such as the Art Museum of the National University of Colombia, the Botanical Garden José Celestino Mutis (Bogota), Art Museum of the University of Magdalena (Santa Marta), and recently in the annual exhibitions Summary and Winterwerkschau (Weimar, Germany). I am the winner selected by the public for the eighth edition of the Salón de Arte Joven del Club El Nogal.
